On July 31, 2019, the Indonesian Sugar Research Institute (ISRI) welcomed a visit from a Dutch family who intended to find traces of the legacy of their grandparents. In the 1930s, their grandparents had worked as a researcher in the engineering department of the ISRI. At the moment, the ISRI was still called as “Proefstation Oost Java”. During the visit, they came to the ISRI’s agricultural engineering laboratory. Until now, the laboratory occupies a Dutch heritage building. They also found some old books, with some articles on the books written by his grandparents.
